A Natural and Modern Wedding at Ursino Restaurant in Union, New Jersey

Lauren Volpe (28 and a teacher) and Michael Volpe's (33 and an electrician) wedding style was inspired by their love of the country. Their sophisticated wedding, which was a modern take on rustic and natural themes, took place at Ursino Restaurant in Union, New Jersey. The event was planned by Details Made Simple and perfectly captured by Havana Photography. Lauren and Michael were married outdoors in front of a backdrop made out of wooden pallets. They had a friend write their favorite quotes on it in simple white calligraphy. This detail was echoed in the sign for Lauren and Michael's signature drinks at cocktail hour. The couple aimed for a laid-back vibe at their reception. "We wrote the names that we usually call our friends and family on their escort cards," Lauren says. "Our guests got a kick out of it." Dining tables at Ursino Restaurant were simply decorated with burlap table runners and bouquets of white flowers and greens for the reception. For dinner, guests enjoyed the restaurant's delicious farm-to-table menu and an array of desserts in white and silver. Lauren says it's important to take time to relax during the wedding planning process. "The minute it's no longer fun and it becomes a chore you should stop, take a breather and remind yourself how lucky you are to be marrying your best friend."
