The Jewish marriage contract, or Ketubah, was signed in an intimate ceremony with the close family, friends, and the couple's Rabbi before the wedding ceremony. The ketubah is written in both Hebrew and English, outlining the responsibilities between the groom and his bride, and then signed, including signatures of two non-relative witnesses of Jewish descent.
These silver Stuart Weitzman shoes have a lace overlay, and dotted over the lace are small Swarovski crystal stones. Jeff picked out the silver shoes for Shwetha to wear during the Jewish wedding ceremony.
Jewish Ceremony Huppah
The creative and custom cake topper was a humorous likeness of Shwetha in a purple sari holding a toothbrush, Jeff in his tux and yamulke holding a calculator, and their little yorkie, Macgyver.

Their colors were gold and burgundy for the Hindu ceremony, so each favor was packaged up and labeled to coordinate. Inside each box were delicious Indian sweets from Royal Sweets for the guests to indulge in.

Shwetha and Jeff placed garlands around each other’s neck to kickstart the Hindu ceremony. A large velvet banner that was held up in front of Jeff to block his view of Shewtha walking down the aisle, another Indian tradition.

Can you believe that the Jewish huppah is actually the morning mandap, transformed? It’s amazing how similar Hindu and Jewish traditions can be. The core structure of the mandap remained the same, with only moving the outside pillars to the inside to form the circular roof. Throw in ivory, silver and purple linens, ornaments, and flowers, mood lighting, a pianist and a flute musician, and together you have the makings of a very elegant Jewish wedding.
Purple roses, orchids and the like dressed each pillar of the huppah, which also matched the flowers of Shwetha's wedding bouquet.
The couple's wedding mandap for the Hindu ceremony was held up by four pillars. The mandap represents the couple's first home together (very much the same as a huppah represents in Jewish tradition). This was a breathtaking display of gold, orange, and burgundy, all the warm and inviting colors of India. The mandap was the perfect stage for the morning ceremony.
