A Mountain Hike, Doughnuts and Lots of Bubbly Made This Asheville Wedding One of a Kind

Demi and K'Cey invited 25 guests to witness their mountain ceremony just south of Asheville.  Not even fog, blisters and blustering winds could stop the pair from climbing their way to the top of Black Balsam Knob alongside their closest friends and family.
After the ceremony, everyone ate Vortex Doughnuts, then hiked to the top of the mountain to pop bubbly. "My mom got married in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and we really enjoyed the surroundings and nature," K'Cey says. Moreover, it was the closest choice for the Maryland residents, who initially had their eyes on Yosemite. Posthike, the party continued at Rhubarb with toasts and a family-style meal of IPA-brined cauliflower, wood-fired chicken, smoked ribeye and more. After dinner, the couple cut into a chocolate and vanilla vegan cake with espresso icing.
The low-key couple purchased their wedding bands from Etsy and wrote their own vows. Plus, one of K'Cey's pals officiated.  Demi carried artichokes, flowering kale, quicksand roses, waxflower, plum ranunculus, blue thistle and peach foxgloves.
"We didn't have a wedding party, but we asked our guests to dress within our color palette to make our photos even more spectacular," Demi says. "My sister was never a flower girl, which she's pretty salty about, so I included 'flower-girling' in her maid of honor duties."
