A Morning Destination Wedding at Wicked Spoon in Las Vegas, Nevada
No wedding party, no color palette, no big dance party, no problem for Pam Duffy (28 and a product manager) and Ted Duffy (28 and a business development manager), who hosted a Las Vegas destination wedding to keep their day simple and sweet. “Since more than half our guests would have had to fly to us for our wedding, it seemed to make sense to send everyone somewhere more fun,” Pam says. Since the wedding was in the morning, Pam wore a knee-length hi-lo lace wedding dress for a casual spin on a classic bridal look. The couple chose to have their ceremony in the Tropicana Las Vegas in the Havana Room. “What I liked most about the Havana Room was that it had a long, grand aisle for the bride to walk down,” Pam says. At the reception at Wicked Spoon in The Cosmopolitan, the couple served their guests an elaborate brunch, a nod to how Ted proposed to Pam. Mimosas and Bloody Marys swirled around the room as guests indulged in a broad selection of pancakes, omelets, smoothies, chicken, waffles, sushi, pizza and the bride’s personal favorite, the Wicked Mac and Cheese. “People enjoyed getting to talk to one another without the dimmed lights and loud music,” Pam says. Later in the evening, the couple took their guests on a tour of the Las Vegas Strip with stops at the Las Vegas sign and the Fountains of Bellagio. Pam offers advice for future brides: “Keep it simple. Guests will appreciate fewer, more meaningful details.”
