Although Corey proposed to Allison with an octagon-halo diamond, the couple thought the hexagon was a better symbol of their six-year relationship. It became a recurring motif of their moody-modern North Shore wedding. “I have just always really loved geometric shapes,” Allison says. Hexagons appeared on the stationery and desserts, while pentagons and rectangles served as vases. Burgundy, navy and gray saturated the waterfront Beauport Hotel reception, creating a warm atmosphere, even as a nor’easter loomed outside. “I especially loved the anemones in the bridesmaids’ bouquets,” Allison says of the clutches paired with roses and greenery. Allison paired her simple Mikado silk gown with geometric crystal earrings, burgundy velvet heels and a dramatic red lip. Roses, amaranthus and dahlias complemented gold-framed table numbers, vellum menus with burgundy type and the matching napkins Allison bought just for the occasion. Ombré sugar ruffles coated the hexagon-shaped banana praline cake, and the variety of cupcakes also on offer were topped with geometric cutout shapes.
