When Andrea started her job at Yoga Journal, she kept hearing about Jason, who taught a weekly class at the office. They crossed paths at a company meeting, and later she edited a column he wrote. They became good friends, but they were both seeing other people at the time, so it took a while for a romance to develop. The Bride Andrea Ferretti, 37, editor The Groom Jason Crandell, 34, yoga teacher The Date October 11 Nearly two years after their first date, they were getting ready to go to Jason’s hometown for the holidays. He started fidgeting on the couch and kept glancing over at Andrea. When she asked if he felt anxious about flying the next day, he nodded and gave her a hug. When they let go, Andrea saw that Jason was holding a ring.

Elevated square plates held neat rows of mini cupcakes. Guests started hoarding the treats before dinner even started!
Peonies weren’t in season, so garden roses stood in to create a similarly lush look. Pink and white tulips and calla lilies upped the texture.
Hot-pink, strappy sandals matched the maids’ dresses and added a pop of color underneath Andrea’s gown.
In lieu of an arbor, garlands of multi-colored paper circles hung from the trees behind the couple. They spun around with the breeze, creating a dynamic look.
Each woman chose her own dress style in one of two shades of pink and accessorized with gray or silver shoes for a unified, but not uniform, look.
To personalize the front porch of the venue, the couple hung a sign with their names and wedding date. Like many of the other decorations, a friend made this for them.
The couple’s friend baked a cake in Jason’s favorite flavor—chocolate! Hot-pink orchids worked the signature hue into the dessert display.
The lovebirds and flower details from the invitations were shrunk down and used to jazz up opposite corners of each escort card.
A ribbon secured the wedding bands to a petite pillow made out of felt. Its hot-pink color was a perfect match to some of the bridesmaid dresses.
The couple hired a mariachi band to play festive tunes as guests arrived. For the walk down the aisle, Andrea and Jason switched to slower-paced love songs.
Crochet Bridal Shawl
Instead of a veil, Andrea accented her updo with a feathery hairpiece dotted with Swarovski crystals. The accessory was full of vintage glamour, matching the wedding’s other retro details.
Mini Desserts
The couple didn’t need an arbor; the trees in their reception site’s backyard beautifully framed the spot where they exchanged vows.
Guests sat at rectangular tables on wooden chairs to go along with the venue’s cozy vibe. Pink centerpieces brought in the color scheme.
