A Modern Wedding at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York, Packed with Elephant Motifs
New Yorkers Annie and Arjun wanted a crisp, modern wedding that was in line with their style while also honoring Arjun's Indian heritage. The result was a navy-and-white modern-meets-industrial wedding packed with elegant calla lilies and elephant motifs. The wedding began with a ceremony in the main room of The Foundry. Since the space is very industrial, the couple "wanted to bring in lots of greenery and white flowers to create a more organic feeling. We also wanted to have a modern, elegant vibe, so we used flowers like calla lilies and we had crystal chandeliers overhead, and ghost chairs. Our florist was amazing and did most of it, including building the arch behind the ceremony, but we found cute little elephant tea lights that were placed throughout the venue," says Annie. Following the ceremony guests moved into the cocktail area space where they were welcomed by a topiary elephant that served as the escort card display. "The topiary elephant was something we had a lot of fun with," Annie recalls. In keeping with the couple's clean, architectural aesthetic, the reception area included a clear-top tent under which guests enjoyed dinner at tables topped with calla lily arrangements. "We loved the chandeliers overhead and hanging greenery in the main space and in the dinner tent," the couple notes of their reception space at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York.
