A Modern Wedding at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida
Flowers were at the forefront of Sarah Chandler (32 and a teacher) and Andy Snyder’s (34 and works in medical sales) wedding, which fell just one week before the start of spring. A palette of navy, silver and cream added to the sophisticated feel of the light-filled venue, where guests dined on Floridian signature dishes in the form of fresh fish and oranges. “I loved that the floor-to-ceiling glass of the venue showcased the beautiful city where I was born and raised," Sarah says. Modern black ribbon popped against Sarah’s cascading arrangement of phalaenopsis orchids. As a way to honor his late father, Andy chose to wrap the boutonniere in fabric sourced from one of his dad’s shirts. “It was a special sentiment that will never be forgotten,” Sarah says. At the ceremony, the couple recessed to a celebratory burst of confetti. “We were incredibly happy in that moment,” Sarah says. Later, the couple cut into a fondant cake made with layers of amaretto and red velvet filled with almond buttercream. A one-of-a-kind installation of dense greenery, blooms and LED lights framed the dance floor. “It was all about that hanging floral chandelier,” Sarah says.
