A Modern Wedding at Springstep in Medford, Massachusetts

Casandra DiFranza (26 and a social worker) and Pete Leslie (26 and in administration) met while wandering the streets of Melrose the summer prior to their freshman year of high school. They assumed they would never meet again, but against the odds, the two end up in the same history class. Throughout their four years of high school they formed a great friendship, all the while developing feelings for one another. Eventually, the two went to different colleges and parted ways. Four years later, Pete contacted Casandra out of the blue, igniting a spark that brings them back together—this time as a couple. Pete proposed in the spot where they met ten years prior. The couple married at Springstep in Medford, Massachusetts. “We wanted a more modern venue, near Boston,” says the bride. Prior to the ceremony, Casanda, Pete and their friends went around Boston to take photos and enjoy time together. “This relaxed time with our best friends was a great part of the day,” says the bride. “Also, taking photos before the wedding allowed us not to miss out on any of the festivities once our guests arrived.” The couple worked with a navy, gray, bright green and hot pink color palette to achieve a modern atmosphere at their wedding. “The overall laid-back vibe and nontraditional vibe of the day is what best reflected us as a couple,” says Casandra.
