A Modern Wedding at SoHo63 in Chandler, Arizona

Sweethearts for 19 years, Daryl Kaiser-Toney (53 and a retail manager) and Scott Kaiser-Toney (45 and in education administration) tied the knot in Chandler, Arizona. The couple hosted a modern wedding at SoHo63 full of sophisticated navy and silver decor and whimsical polka dots—from their ties to their dalmatian-topped wedding cake—inspired by their invitations from Appleberry Ink. “We liked the invitations so much, we carried the polka dots over to our decorations and theme,” the couple says. Daryl and Scott's intimate wedding day was centered on making their 53 guests feel special—through photographs. Before their processional, they played a photo slide show of the grooms growing up until the time they met, including many of their families and friends in attendance. “We did this to reflect all the different people in our lives and to give extra meaning to our friends and family present,” the couple says. As a highlight of the ceremony, Daryl and Scott turned around to take a selfie with their guests. After they exchanged their vows, another slide show played, showing the grooms’ lives together with their loved ones. At their reception, they also set up an interactive photo-sharing platform so guests could share their photos with everyone in a live stream; guests also created new memories in a photo booth full of fun props. Derek of Derek Chad Photography beautifully captured the wedding. Daryl and Scott offer tips for the taking for future couples planning their wedding: “Research your wedding planner carefully before hiring one. Make sure to go over their experience and training, and do not be afraid to ask for references. There is a lot more involved to putting on a wedding than one would think.”
