A Modern, Tropical Wedding at Acre Baja in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Becca Brooks and Matt White planned an intimate destination affair on the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with a color palette of soft pastel hues that captured the colors of the setting’s picturesque sunsets.

“We wanted to get married in Mexico but didn’t want a beach wedding, so it was perfect,” Becca says of the couple’s decision to skip the beach and host the soiree at Acre Baja, a lush sanctuary set on 25 acres of abundant greenery. “The mango trees, the sleek architecture, the pool and the adorable animals on the property were all just cherries on top.”

Becca and Matt played up the lush landscape with ample greenery, lining the ceremony aisle with oversize monstera leaves and bundles of bright blooms; saying “I do” before a suspended floral backdrop; and decorating the dining tables with succulents and tropical greenery.

Long wood farm tables and cross-back chairs lent the décor a touch of rustic flair, while bold printed linens and custom laser-cut place mats infused the tablescapes with drama and modern appeal. “Magnolia leaves and large tropical leaves were used for place cards and signage throughout the reception area,” Becca says. Authentic maraca ornaments were also placed at each seat as a nod to the locale.

Dinner and dancing under the stars was followed by a late-night gourmet taco bar and a spontaneous dip in the pool by the bride, groom and some of the guests!
