A Modern, Spring, Interfaith Wedding at West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion in West Palm Beach, Florida
Deepa Ramanathan (31 and a neuropsychologist) and Mark Elion (31 and an attorney) planned a chic spring affair with a crisp color palette of white, cream and gold hues at the West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion in West Palm Beach, Fl. “Given that our wedding ceremony took place on a dock overlooking the water in West Palm Beach and our reception venue had floor-to-ceiling windows, we wanted our decor to complement the outdoors,” says Deepa. “The main color scheme was gold and white, so you could still appreciate the water and greenery.” The day started with an interfaith ceremony, which Deepa’s brother officiate, in which the couple combined traditions from both their Hindu and Jewish backgrounds, like exchanging floral garlands and performing the saptapadi, as well as signing a Ketubah, exchanging rings and breaking of a glass. The newlyweds and their guests then moved indoors for the reception, where guests enjoyed breathtaking views of the water as they dined and danced the night away. Tables were topped with fresh white blooms like hydrangeas and tulips, gilded chargers, playful elephant escort card holder and table names eluding to memorable event and locations for the couple. Taste of India pleased even the most discerning palates with their delicious spread of traditional Indian dishes before guests hit the dance floor and danced the night away.
