A Modern, Rustic Wedding at Carondelet House in Los Angeles

Trilby and Leslie had a thoroughly modern wedding at Carondelet House in Los Angeles. While the wedding didn't have a theme, it centered on the colors white and navy. Trilby wore a navy-blue dress with a lace back, while Leslie went for a simple and elegant off-white dress with spaghetti straps. "Not all the wedding party adhered 100 percent to this color palette request (Trilby's sister Cordelia wore a floral number), but everyone looked smashing on the day," the brides say. Trilby also carried a colorful bouquet with an eclectic and unexpected mix of purple anemones, sweet peas, berries and variegated geraniums. In contrast, Leslie chose a more classic bouquet with ivory flowers and greenery. The couple decorated their modern venue with plenty of greenery to give it a garden feel, which popped against the venue's brick and dramatic wood finishes. Tabletop and ceremony décor included cascading greenery, touches of ivory flowers and loads of candles.
Our favorite #MakeTradition Moment: In lieu of traditional cake cutting, Trilby and Leslie chose to feature an assortment of pies from a local diner. "This proved to be a big hit with my family from Australia, many of whom were not familiar with the concept of a dessert pie," Trilby says.
