A Modern, Romantic Outdoor Wedding at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana, California

ILush blooms and polished tones of plum, gray and champagne brought Mia Lee (29 and an entrepreneur) and Dorell Wright’s (28 and an NBA player) chic outdoor wedding to life.

The wedding’s theme, “The Wright Love Story,” was a playful but heartfelt nod to Mia and Dorell’s life together. “We’re both very aware of our nontraditional journey to marriage,” Mia says. “After seven years together, a son and the outside judgment — finally reaching that place of wanting to be married was meaningful and sacred to us both. It was our perfect love story!”


Mia and Dorell’s reception included a live band, DJ and performance by rapper YG, plus a nod to Mia’s father’s New Orleans roots: a traditional second line complete with lace parasol.
