A Modern, Romantic Garden Wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida

When hosting their wedding, Josh Littleton and Nick D'Ambra gave a modern twist to an elegant garden party. Their color palette focused on gray, canary yellow and green with hints of navy. And the venue, the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, combined indoor and outdoor event spaces. "We were strategic in selecting a venue that would have inherent beauty by combining art and nature," the grooms say. The bridesmaids wore canary yellow dresses, and they accessorized with "living jewelry" necklaces with yellow flowers. "This would allow our wedding party versatility throughout the night and give them the ability to have free hands," Josh and Nick say. The groomsmen—as well as Josh and Nick—wore light gray suits with "floral pocket squares" cascading out of the jacket pockets. The ceremony took place in the museum's courtyard, which was decorated with white folding chairs, greenery and hanging decorations in the trees. Guests moved indoors for an elegant reception with tall centerpieces and pink tablecloths. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Josh and Nick served a tiered confection with four separate cheeses, fruit and snacks. They also had a group dance lesson: "We enjoy ballroom dancing and wanted to share that foundational experience with all of our guests," the couple says. "We invited a couple of instructors from Fred Astaire Dance Studio in St. Petersburg to lead our guests in the foundations of salsa, bachata and swing."
