A Modern Purple Wedding at The Holiday Inn in Ann Arbor, Michigan

When planning their big day, Andrea Haeussler (27 and a physical therapist) and Anthony Lauderdale (33 and an analyst) made sure to include the bride's favorite colors, pink and purple, while keeping a traditional feel. Bright blooms and rich purple bridesmaid dresses lent a romantic and modern touch to the classic church wedding. "I wanted my flowers to tie in the bright pinks for our color palette. I was less concerned with what type of bloom and more interested in the quality of color and variety of textures to really pop against the ladies’ purple dresses. Grey Fox Floral did a great job of bringing my vision to life," says Andrea. When looking for a ceremony location, the Chicago residents browsed in the Ann Arbor, Michigan, area in order to be closer to the bride's family. After viewing many options, Andrea and Anthony chose to be married at Trinity Lutheran Church, the same church the bride's parents married in, 32 years before. In the company of 120 of their closest friends and family members, Andrea and Anthony exchanged Christian vows. Andrea wore a lace coverup during the traditional ceremony, as a modest addition to her strapless dress. Andrea's mother gifted the bride with a hand-beaded belt, which added a glamorous touch to the bride's lace gown. The bride and groom invited guests to celebrate their nuptials at the Holiday Inn in Ann Arbor. "It was a surprising location in my book, but we chose this for a number of reasons. The ballroom had the perfect clean, contemporary look I was hoping for. They had recent renovations throughout their facilities, which showed beautifully. Finally, they had the perfect location for travel and downtown access, and onsite accommodations for our many out-of-town guests, really bringing everything together for us," says Andrea.
