A Modern, Neutral-Colored Wedding at Terra Gallery in San Francisco, California
For their modern wedding, Madie Hodges and Thomas Cyr had a funky "bohemian, greenhouse library theme with a nod to the Beatles." They tied the knot at Terra Gallery, a contemporary loft space in the heart of San Francisco with vintage furniture, hanging vines and greenery covering the ceiling. "The color palette was pretty simple: hues of green, black and cream," Madie says. "I wanted there to be a lot of vines and greenery everywhere—like bringing a greenhouse to life in an art gallery." The ceremony happened in the center of the gallery, and guests surrounded the altar on simple cross-back chairs. Madie and Thomas exchanged vows under a 7,000-square-foot canopy of southern smilax, eucalyptus and other varieties of foliage. After witnessing the nuptials, guests meandered to the escort card display, which was one of Madie's favorite parts of the wedding. It resembled a library card catalog cabinet, and it included personalized cards for every guest with quotes from the couple's favorite books. The reception also took place under the greenery canopy with the head table in the center of the room. "All of the table centerpieces and florals were simple and elegant with white blooms, eucalyptus and many types of greenery to tie in with the ceiling arrangement," Madie says. Going along with the Beatles theme, the couple also rented a vintage Volkswagen photo booth bus, and they set out a neon sign quoting their favorite Beatles song, “All You Need Is Love.”
