A Modern Mountainside Wedding at Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado

With a “less is more” attitude, Christine Follin (30 and a wedding planner) and Jason Sills (39 and a property manager) hosted a timeless celebration with romantic greenery, pops of the bride’s favorite color, yellow, and the stunning Aspen landscape. “I didn’t want to have decor that took our guests’ focus away from the magnificent scenery,” Christine says. Christine strove to find a bridesmaid dress style in yellow that would be both flattering and timeless. “I realize yellow isn’t everyone’s color but it truly looked beautiful,” she says. For her own look, she wore her best friend’s diamond jewelry and custom made shoes so she’d be the perfect height next to Jason. Jason helped plan by organizing the ceremony’s Bible readings, and Christine assembled a menu of comfort food, including an ice cream cart. “We had cups made with an illustration of our dogs,” she adds. The couple's trio of hounds participated in the ceremony and inspired details on the napkins, groom's cake and more, including the suite, which featured marbled paper with vellum and a sweet image of the pups on the inside flap. A wood cross decked out in blooms as well as five large planters created the altar. Along with acrylic escort cards, the reception included transparent chairs. A mix of high and low arrangements topped the tables, where guests dined on pork tenderloin and Southern-style biscuits with wildflower honey.
