A Modern Mountain Wedding at Killington Resort in Killington, Vermont

When it came to planning their wedding, Adina DeHainaut (30 and an eighth-grade math teacher) and Ryan Calvi (33 and an oral maxillofacial surgeon) knew right from the get-go that Killington Mountain in Vermont was where they wanted to say their “I dos.” Growing up, Adina spent almost every winter there skiing with her family; the couple loved to visit together to enjoy all the outdoor activities in the natural landscape. “This is our happy place,” Adina says. “When choosing our wedding location, we knew that one of our families would have to travel a great distance. We had our wedding in Vermont so we could share with our family and friends the place we love the most.” Killington Resort offered breathtaking views of both the mountains and lush, natural landscape, providing the ultimate backdrop for the couple’s lakeside ceremony. When it came to the decor, the couple played up their New Jersey and California roots with a subtle wine country and seaside theme. Design elements like wine barrels, wine-bottle centerpieces and wineglass wedding favors reflected Ryan’s West Coast background, while a sand ceremony served as a nod to the Jersey Shore. To highlight the wedding’s locale and the place that brought them so much joy, the pair incorporated Vermont wildflowers into the centerpieces and served a selection of craft beer from local breweries, like Long Trail, Harpoon, Magic Hat and Otter Creek during cocktail hour.
