A Modern Mountain Wedding at Jay Peak Resort in Jay, Vermont

Erik proposed to Abbie on their four year anniversary. On the way out to dinner, Erik "forgot" his backpack at their old apartment (they were in the process of moving) so the couple stopped by his apartment--which had been completely transformed to look like a London restaurant complete with a waitress with a British accent to wait on them! At the end of the night, Erik urged Abbie to open her mint candy and inside was a hand written note and when Abbie looked up, Erik was down on one knee. The couple got married at Jay Peak Resort. A color palette of navy and green with a few touches of pink helped bring out the modern and unique vibe the couple wanted at their wedding. Escort cards attached to green apples and jars of fresh green fruit used as centerpieces added a fun, creative touch to the decor. Erik designed all the stationery and signs, which added a personal touch to the decor, too. Cupcakes were served for dessert, and bags of buttered popcorn and M&Ms were given out as favors--a nod to the fact that the couple met working at a local movie theater. The couple shared their first dance to "Better Together" by Jack Johnson, and then used the record as a unique guestbook! "There were many small details and tons of DIY touches that our guests seemed to notice and appreciate," Abbie says.
