A Minimalist Wedding With Pops of Color at Prospect House in Dripping Springs, Texas

When DeAndré Upshaw (31 and a digital video production manager) proposed to Stuart Hausmann (30 and an illustrator and artist) he did so in his signature dramatic fashion: with a dance troupe, flag twirlers and 40 friends and family members present. Their wedding at Prospect House was just as exuberant.  “We’d describe our color palette as a box of confetti that’s exploded all over the place,” DeAndré says. “We brought in all the colors of the rainbow, but in a mature and sophisticated way.” Ombré candlesticks, tons of balloons and vibrant flowers did the trick.
DeAndré surprised Stuart and their guests with beer-toting donkeys who sauntered around during cocktail hour, where paper cones stuffed with breadsticks hung from a pegboard, as a nod to the couple’s first date at Olive Garden. DeAndré and Stuart served up fried chicken, mini iceberg lettuce wedges, Mexican Coke sweet potatoes and wood-fired grilled vegetables, which they ate under a chandelier of brightly colored balloons and hanging greenery.   Zinnias, carnations and roses decorated the head table, while the festive balloon wall doubled as a selfie backdrop throughout the reception. 

At the end of the night, the dapper duo, dressed to the nines in  black and blue tuxes, bow ties and loafers, sped off in a Tesla, while guests went home with tubs of gourmet cotton candy.
