A Modern, Industrial Wedding at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, New York

Morgan Fiedler and Mandy Moxley met in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, five years ago, and they wanted a venue that reflected the neighborhood where they fell in love. "We love the industrial-chic aesthetic of the Wythe Hotel, and everything else came together after we found our perfect space," the brides say. "We knew we wanted a late-December wedding, so we opted for deep, moody florals to match the season." To continue their modern vibe, Mandy and Morgan wore custom suits that they designed from scratch. Mandy opted for a sleek navy suit with a paisley lining, while Morgan went with a charcoal gray number with a floral lining. They both donned custom-tailored oxford shirts, and Morgan also wore cuff links from her mother. For the ceremony, the minimalistic décor looked modern and industrial, with candles creating an ambient glow on the chilly December day. "We wanted our ceremony to be the most personal part of our day, so we worked with Morgan's step-dad to custom-build our wood wedding arch," Mandy says. "We spent a number of weeks working with him to design the structure, and our moms helped us stain the wood to match our décor." Garlands of greenery, which already existed at the Wythe, complemented the moody, jewel-tone flower arrangements at the reception.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "By far the most special moment of our wedding day was our ceremony and exchange of vows," Mandy says. "As a gay couple, it was incredibly moving to share our love and commitment in front of family and friends. Our moms read a poem and an excerpt of the Supreme Court decision Obergefell v. Hodges, the court case that legalized marriage equality in the US in 2015. We elected to write our own vows to one another, and each of us took the opportunity to share how the other has impacted her life and express the commitment and excitement we have for our future together."
