A Modern Indoor-Outdoor Wedding at Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, California

Chase Amos (28 and a deputy sheriff) and Matthew (Matt) Thompson (36 and an employee of the US Department of State) chose the iconic Hotel del Coronado to host their modern event filled with plenty of chic touches. The pair said their vows on the Windsor Lawn under a custom wood wedding arch, then guests mingled on the lawn and relaxed on posh lounge areas sectioned off by tall hedges while sipping a signature drink— a spin on the Moscow mule dubbed the “matrimony mule.” Their palette was a sophisticated combo of gleaming silver and gold paired with navy blue and dark gray accents. Although they generally skipped florals in favor of greenery, the pair did opt to add a few blooms to their cake and reception tables. A custom green hedge marked with the grooms’ names popped in the sleek speakeasy-inspired reception, and black plates and gold flatware topped rustic whitewashed wood tables.
