A Modern, Glamorous Wedding at the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Ohio

n When Katie Ricart (27 and a human resources coordinator) and Derek Lichtfuss (28 and a commercial real estate broker) heard that a local art museum was building an all-white room with floor-to-ceiling windows, they knew it’d be perfect for their ultra-chic affair. Mirrored accents, lush blooms and clean lines created a sleek yet romantic vibe for the couple’s modern celebration. “Because the space was a completely blank slate, we relied heavily on all-white décor to bring it to life,” Katie says. During cocktail hour, guests ate Maryland crab cakes and sipped "Sun Sets in the East" mojitos, which poked fun at the couple’s engagement. “We were in Puerto Rico, and Derek took me to see the sunset, but we were staying on the east side of the island,” Katie says. “I was too overwhelmed to even notice.” The bride’s bouquet included lilacs—her late mother’s favorite bloom. “I could smell them during my processional and thought of her,” Katie says. Instead of linens, the couple rented acrylic tables and topped them with mirrored chargers, silver napkins and modern glassware.
