Sure there were fireworks in the air on July 4, 2004 -- between Tania and Matt. The two had been acquaintances until they ran into each other at a mutual friend’s party that night. Matt went to her surprise birthday party, then called a week later to ask her out with mutual friends. They spent a weekend at the lake together with friends, then began dating. The Bride Tania Leskovar, 31, the Assistant Director of Development at The University of Texas at Austin The Groom Matthew Matt Owens,31, a sales manager The Date April 18 Three and half years later, on a trip to Argentina, where Tania was born, they were on the side of a mountain overlooking a waterfall, when Matt got down on one knee and asked for Tania’s hand in marriage. When they got back stateside, Tania began their 15-month process of planning the perfect wedding.

Grapevine orbs decorated with moss and spider mums hung down from a large tree under which the bride and groom exchanged vows.
Tania’s three bridesmaids wore clover green cotton dresses from J. Crew and each carried a different bouquet. “I wanted them to be unique so they each carried a type of flower that was in my bouquet. One had all white spider mums, one had all white hydrangea and one had all white sweet peas,” says Tania.
Tania had the invitations printed on column paper, which has a natural texture, to bring in the stripe detail in a subtle way.
Before the ceremony guests relaxed in an outdoor bar area and sipped prosecco and ice bottled water. Tania personalized the water bottles with labels that featured the wedding logo.
Guests found their table assignments pinned onto a wooden sandwich board that was covered in green moss.
After being escorted down the rose petal aisle by her father, Tania met Matt under the large oak where they exchanged the vows they wrote for each other.
The tables were named after towns and cities that Matt and Tania had visited together. The wedding themes (the couples logo and stripes) were incorporated into the design of the table cards.
In keeping with her natural theme, the stems on Tania’s bouquet of green and white hydrangea, mini cymbidium orchids, stephanotis, gardenias, sweet peas, fiddlehead ferns, maiden hair ferns, and poppy pods were left exposed -- in lieu of ribbon the bouquet was tied with a green leaf wrap and grapevine wire.
Alternating round and square cake tiers were covered in fondant stripes (one of the major visual elements of the wedding). Tania’s baker was able to create the bridal logo in rolled fondant.
