A Modern, Garden-Inspired Wedding at the Village Club at Lake Success in Great Neck, New York

Darlene Janicello (28 and a teacher's assistant) and Andrew Lovino (25 and a health and safety engineer) were determined to find a venue that embodied a modern style. So when they stumbled across the hardwood floors, brick walls and industrial interior of the Village Club at Lake Success in Great Neck, New York, Darlene and Andrew knew this is where they wanted to have their modern wedding with a touch of garden inspiration. The black-and-white-striped invitations were decorated with purple bloom and foliage designs, reflecting the overall palette of pink, purple, blue and green. The bridal bouquet made a bold statement with its king protea that dominated the arrangement, surrounded by soft-colored roses and white stock, by Verbena Designs. Darlene and Andrew were married under a lovely wooden archway with flowers accenting its branches, and the brick wall backdrop with purple uplighting created a romantic glow for the occasion. Silver lanterns with white candles decorated white-covered dining tables, in addition to king protea centerpieces that tied in with Darlene's bouquet. Our favorite part? The three-tier naked cake accented with pink proteas and roses on a silver stand, surrounded by glowing votive candles.
