A Modern, Elegant Wedding at Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute in Kapolei, Hawaii
Eleven years after meeting at their high school’s carnival as teenagers, Brett married Chanel in an elegant outdoor ceremony at Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute in Kapolei, Hawaii. Their palette for the day was crisp but subtle to highlight the natural beauty. Creamy ivories, deep greens and soft pink hues were most prominent in the centerpieces and bouquets. Chanel’s strapless, sweetheart neckline gown (designed by Sarah Seven) was a chic classic-meets-modern design. Groomsmen donned soft gray suits, and the bridesmaids wore silky, neutral sand-hued gowns. After exchanging vows under a rectangular wedding arch decorated with leafy green garlands, the newlyweds hosted guests for dinner at a tented reception, which took place on the Lanikuhonua property. Inside the reception tent, all-white linens were accented with touches of gold, blush pink and greenery-filled centerpieces designed by local florist Su-V Expressions. Personal touches abounded—from custom nameplates for the bride and groom to Hawaii-themed paper goods. Guests danced to the Island Kings Band and dug into the dessert by A Cake Life bakery late into the night. —Carolyn Meers
