A Modern, Elegant Wedding at Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, Georgia
California-based couple Brooks Andrews (30 and VP of a growth equity firm, right) and Dale Dwelle (30 and a recruiting manager at a tech company) decided to show their friends the South by hosting a destination wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. “We chose the Atlanta History Center because we felt it captured the beauty and timelessness of the South,” Dale says. Their wedding planner and designer, Christopher Confero Design, helped them plan from afar to coordinate the white and beige decor with touches of navy and gold. The florists at Legendary Events added white roses to the ivy-covered garden walls and lush floral centerpieces overflowing from the dining tables. For their reception, Brooks and Dale wanted a combination of masculine and elegant with a party atmosphere toward the end of the night. Christopher Confero designed a mix of colorful uplighting, while DJ Vicki Powell brought the energy and music to keep the dance floor busy. Also worth noting: “The menu featured classic Southern stables, food that mom would be proud of,” Dale says. Think appetizers of shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes and sweet potato chive biscuits—you can’t get more Southern than that. To balance both coasts, they brought in California wine selections as well as signature cocktails, a dark and stormy and a manhattan. “It was all a combination of elements that came together for a night we’ll never forget,” Dale says.
