A Modern Desert Wedding at Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North in Scottsdale, Arizona

Lorissa DePalma (35 and an occupational therapist) and Jonathan Sukoneck (45 and a software executive) debated between a destination beach wedding and a celebration in Arizona, but ultimately decided to showcase the natural wonders of their Arizona home. “We figured that our adopted hometown, Scottsdale, Arizona, was a destination in itself, so why not right here?” Lorissa says. They hosted their wedding at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, and got married on the lawn during a dramatic sunset. “The outdoor ceremony reflected our love for nature and the beauty of Arizona,” the couple says. “Our wedding theme was modern, classic elegance with a twist of the desert.” The couple chose succulents, purple flowers and peonies in rich, royal and natural colors to show a blending of their roots with their new home state of Arizona. At the reception at Talavera Restaurant in Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, guests relaxed, dined and danced with a grand view of the Scottsdale city lights and Pinnacle Peak Mountain. “Upon entering the reception, it was amazing,” Lorissa says. “Talavera was the perfect setting to relax, have fun and enjoy some of the finest cuisine and service.” The couple offer words of advice to future couples: “During your reception, stand back with your new spouse and take in all the loved ones that have come to join in celebration. The experience truly flies by, but if you stop and allow yourself to enjoy it, you will have memories that can never be erased.”
