A Modern, Chic Wedding at High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia

The High Museum of Art is no ordinary venue. This eye-catching gallery in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, offers breathtaking modern architecture, a stark monochromatic interior with high ceilings and a courtyard filled with edgy exhibitions and an urban backdrop that’s the perfect blank canvas for a contemporary celebration. And of course, there’s no shortage of art! That’s why Jiah Choi (39 and a marketing professional) and Warren Chu (30 and a hotel owner and operator) got married here, in the city they love. “We both love art, and the modern space is beautiful,” Jiah says. “Most of our guests were from out of town, so we thought it would give them a sense of Atlanta.” With the help of wedding planner Michelle Gainey at Lemiga Events, they played off their venue’s neutral palette with white, champagne and gold accents and textured ivory florals by Edge Design Group. Everything about Jiah and Warren’s wedding had a modern aesthetic, from Jiah’s untraditional dress to the custom monogram on the stationery by Foglio Press. (We loved the red string detail on the programs, which added a subtle nod to Warren’s Chinese heritage.) To reflect their Southern home, Jiah and Warren had a Southern menu for dinner—think chicken fried steak and shrimp and grits—and shared a sweet first dance to “Georgia On My Mind.” “We met in Georgia and know that it will always be a special place for us,” Jiah says.
