A Modern Casino-Themed Wedding at the Market Street Emporium in Nashville, Tennessee
Talen Forney (27 and an assistant buyer) and Michael Lane (30 and a senior auditor) met at an alumni party for Talen's college. Michael happened to be in town visiting family that weekend and decided to stop by the party with some of his friends. Talen caught his attention and Michael made a point of introducing himself before the night was over. The two hit it off while enjoying a glass of wine and good conversation — the rest is history. On Talen's birthday a few years later, Michael got down on one knee in front of all of her closet family members and friends, asking her to marry him.The couple planned a fun, laid-back affair at the National Underground Nashville and Market Street Emporium, right in the heart of the iconic music city. They kicked things off with a show-stopping ceremony on the roof of the National Underground, exchanging vows with the city skyline as the backdrop. "We had a few issues with our original venue, but luckily our venue coordinators were able to make accommodations for us to have it here (at the National Underground). It ended up working out in our favor — it was even more amazing than our original plan." After the ceremony, the couple and their guests headed up the street to the Market Street Emporium, an historic property with antique wooden floors, an intimate vibe and views of the Cumberland River, for a lively evening full of good food, lots of entertainment and fun. Talen and Michael incorporated a Casino Royale theme into the evening to spice things up, with casino-inspired centerpieces and activities like poker, blackjack and roulette available for guests to play.
