A Modern Bohemian Garden Wedding at Sainte Terre in Benton, Louisiana

Morgan Crissman and Matthew Schnell’s wedding was a modern garden affair with lush greenery and vibrant pops of color.

With the help of the planning pros at Sainte Terre, the couple pulled off a personality-packed fete. Geometric terrariums, lush garlands of fresh greenery and full pink blooms, copper accents, and a mix of industrial and rustic details set a contemporary, bohemian tone for the festivities. “As far as the décor goes, I wanted all the flowers—and then more flowers!” Morgan says. The venue’s modern chapel was decorated with a minimalist copper arch adorned with vines and bright florals, and vintage wooden pews lined the aisle.

“My favorite part of our wedding was deciding to write our own vows to each other. It was so special and unique. Although we both cried through the entire ceremony, putting our vows into our own words made it so much more meaningful to both of us,” Morgan says.

The reception was where the evening’s theme really shined, with statement garlands and suspended floral installations dressing up the wooden tables and metal pilot chairs.

Wanting their guests to have a unique way to remember the day, Morgan and Matthew skipped the expected photo booth in favor of a caricature artist. The pair also treated their family and friends to homemade macarons made by Morgan’s aunt. Other standout details included Matthew’s groom’s cake, which was made by Morgan’s mother and played up his love of all things Star Wars.
