A Modern Black, White and Fuschia Wedding at the Orlando Museum of Art in Florida
Marisa and Kenneth (Kenny) have their own way of doing theme parks—they met on a family trip to one. “We were the designated bag holders,” Marisa says. Later, the native New Yorkers invited loved ones to their wedding in Orlando, the home of their fave amusement park. “We wanted to experience Disney with our guests and show people the art and culture of the city,” Marisa says. Instead of a dreamy Disney ball, the couple threw a modern celebration with a black, white and fuchsia color scheme and a black cake. The Orlando Museum of Art provided a culturally rich ceremony backdrop. “We didn’t want to distract from the art, so we kept the décor minimal,” Marisa says. At the reception at The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, sleek and chic was the name of the game. Black glasses topped black linens, with major pops of color coming from pink roses and orchids. Diamond-shaped menus on silver chargers added to the modern vibe of the décor. Kenny, Marisa and their guests chowed down on tacos and shrimp and grits, and sipped classic mango and passion fruit margaritas served from a margarita bar.
