A Modern Beach Wedding at Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort

Jade Perkins and Adam Gordon’s chic waterfront wedding in Grand Cayman was bursting with bright color and personalized touches. The couple and their guests gathered at the water’s edge for a traditional Jewish ceremony. Jade and Adam—who was dressed in a custom blue and white plaid suit—exchanged vows and signed their ketubah under a modern chuppah draped with sheer white fabric and a garland of bold pink, purple and peach tulips, roses, stock and bougainvillea. Cocktail hour took place on the Grand Cayman Marriott’s waterfront patio, then it was back to the beach for dinner and dancing. Round tables covered in textured white linens and gilded flatware dotted the sand, each housed under wood canopies decorated with airy fabric and chandeliers. Strands of bistro lights hung between the canopies over the dance floor, which stood at the center of the setup. Instead of a traditional sparkler send-off, the newlyweds gathered their guests on the shore of Seven Mile Beach at the end of the night, where they sent illuminated lanterns into the night sky. “We weren’t sure if it was going to happen until just a few hours before, since the wind had to be just right,” Jade says. “We negotiated a deal with the government to shut down the airport.”
