A Modern Ballroom Wedding at Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC
Michelle Huddleston (34 and a technical advisor) and Dennis Wilson (39 and in the military) had a modern and elegant wedding at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. They happened on their color palette during a shopping trip for bridesmaid dresses. One of Michelle's bridesmaids picked out a gown in a unique shade of purple, which just happens to be Dennis's favorite color. From there, silver was an easy choice for an accent color. The Colonnade Room at the Fairmont was decked out in lavish decor suitable for Michelle and Dennis's black-tie affair. Silver dining tables were awash in purple lighting, and tall, blooming centerpieces of blue and purple hydrangeas, pink, lavender and ivory roses and silver branches added height to the room. On her wedding day, Michelle dressed in a mermaid-style Vera Wang dress, which she paired with an embellished sash by Oscar de la Renta. Her bridesmaids wore purple satin Alfred Sung dresses. Dennis sported his white military uniform to the ceremony and changed into a black tuxedo to match his groomsmen at the reception. The newlyweds and their guests ended the night with an anniversary dance to celebrate all of the married couples in attendance.
