A Modern and Rustic Wedding at Valley Rock Inn & Mountain Club in Sloatsburg, New York

Sylvia Oppito and Christopher Oppito loved their wedding venue (Valley Rock Inn & Mountain Club), so they based their wedding aesthetic on the gardens and grounds. "Our ceremony was held in a shade garden that was filled with beautiful trees and hydrangea bushes," Sylvia says. "We decided to add hanging florals from the trees make the garden a bit more whimsical." They also decorated the space with tea light glass terrarium holders and white petals on the ground. Cocktail hour was held in a garden filled with roses and a water fountain, and it also had an outdoor deck for enjoying the October weather. "We ate dinner on the deck as the sun was setting, and this where I wanted to keep things very moody," Sylvia says "We did cascading flower centerpieces down long tables mixed with bud vases and black taper candles. I didn't want anything perfect; I wanted height and air, and I wanted to make things feel natural and wild." Guests also ventured onto the lawn for the reception, where they sat in a lounge area with a fire pit and danced under a clear-topped tent. Sylvia stunned in a modern off-the-shoulder gown with a mermaid fit, which she paired with a bouquet of white roses. She also had an embellished "wifey" jacket for the reception. Sylvia's bridesmaids wore black gowns with V-necklines and wildflower bouquets, and Christopher donned a classic black tuxedo with a bowtie.
