A Modern, Alternative Wedding at The Stave Room at American Spirit Works in Atlanta, Georgia

For their modern and industrial wedding, Caryn Gepp and Ryan Gepp mixed primary colors and fun patterns for a welcoming atmosphere. Guests received invitations with typography and color-block patterns, which introduced them to the celebration at The Stave Room at American Spirit Works. "Wedding decor flowed naturally from an all-color palette. I tend to be very abstract," Caryn says. This aesthetic was also evident in the fashion choices—the groom sported a brown suit, while the bride wore a stunning red dress layered with soft tulle . The bold ensemble also held sentimental value because Caryn's mother wore red at her own wedding. She accessorized with a simple updo and a color-coordinated bouquet.  The ceremony took place in a loft with upside-down plants hanging from the ceiling. Candles lined the aisle, and the couple stood underneath a wall of windows. "My mother and niece (flower-bearer) bought tissue paper and stamped out star, circle and square shapes in various colors to be her 'flowers' to toss down the aisle," Caryn says. "It was an amazing idea and a good way to get my niece excited." An abstract, colorful seating chart showed guests to their reception tables, which were decorated in patterned linens. "I hoped that patterns would break up some of the bold color we had. Our linens were among my favorite items at the wedding visually," Caryn says. The night ended with a fun exit, and the couple's loved ones held paper decorations on long sticks over their heads.
