A Mountain Wedding at Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Alberta, Canada
When Susannah (23, a Bookkeeper) was a little girl, she saw a beautiful wedding in Banff while on a hiking trip with her grandmother. "My grandma told me that one day, that would be me," Susannah recalls. Sure enough, after Susannah met Dustin (24, a Driller) and he proposed to her in front of their Christmas tree ("He was really giggly--it was cute!" Susannah says) the couple decided to have their wedding at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir in Banff, Alberta. Inspired by Banff's natural beauty, the couple chose minimal, simple decor like aster and Baby's Breath bouquets and burlap and lace decorated mason jars for the centerpieces. A special touch was the beautiful wooden stand Susannah's Step-Dad made for the cupcake display. After a BBQ buffet dinner, everyone enjoyed chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing in lieu of a cake. "Since we only invited our immediate family and best friends, we only had about 28 guests and were able to visit and talk with everyone over dinner--it was really nice and relaxed," Susannah says.
