A Mexican Fiesta Themed Wedding at Border Grill in Los Angeles, California
Dominique Durant (28 and a research program coordinator) and Beth Martin (38 and a scientific writer) met while Beth was being interviewed for a position at the human physiology lab Dominique worked at. Dominique interviewed Beth for about an hour and ended up hiring her. Once Beth started working at the company, they quickly became good friends. Dominique and Beth fell in love over the following several months, and eventually moved in together that following January. The couple was having Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends when they went around the table, saying what they were thankful for. Beth intentionally put herself last to speak, and as she did, got down on one knee and proposed to Dominique! The wedding was held at Border Grill, a modern Mexican restaurant with delicious food and a vibrant, colorful atmosphere. Dominique’s family and her home in San Antonio, Texas inspired the Mexican fiesta theme chosen for the wedding, with a bright color palette of purple, yellow, orange and teal. The ceremony took place at the restaurant's offsite garden area, which was decorated with colorful papel picado banners and paper flowers. Inside the restaurant for the reception, the vibrant murals and colorful walls complemented the Mexican fiesta theme. Brown dining tables with candles surrounded by orange chairs were spread around the restaurant. The couple created a card box out of a pi?ata for guests to slip their personal messages in, and wedding favors were gluten free Mexican wedding cookies in a plastic bag that read, “El Amor es Dulce!” (Love is Sweet!)
