A Luxurious Wedding at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.

Erin Kilroy (26 and a nonprofit administrator) and John Simpson (27 and an engagement consultant) wanted their wedding to be both cozy and elegant. "Our vision was 'refined comfort,'" Erin says. "We wanted it to feel like a dinner party where guests could relax while also feeling like they attended something special." Their wedding at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., perfectly aligned with this vision. As photographed by Eli Turner Studios, Erin and John's marriage was a luxurious evening with a color palette of emerald green and gold. The hall's library was converted into a dining area, and its long wooden tables were adorned with green goblets, gold chargers and bouquets of viburnum and hydrangeas. Flower arrangements also included tall gold branches decorated with ivory roses and surrounded by tea lights. "We wanted to bring the outdoors in and the indoors out," Erin says. She and John invited their guests to enjoy a hot cocoa and hot cider bar on the portico, where they provided lounge seating as well as a space for dancing. One standout detail at this stunning wedding was Erin's bouquet, which included gold-painted leaves and pink-tipped roses along with white hydrangeas and baby's breath. It looked beautiful with her Enzoani ball gown, which suited her perfectly. Thanks to her planner from Karson Butler Events, Erin narrowly avoided a disaster with her wedding dress before the ceremony. "Somehow my sleeves were too big and wouldn't stay on my shoulders," she says. "So my planner cut them off. I was so relieved. Things will wrong on your wedding day, but it always turns out okay!"
