A Luxurious, Modern Wedding at Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC

Mina Azimi (31 and a lawyer) and Alex Krul (28 and a lawyer) met at a Halloween party while they were in law school. Mina was dressed as a dinosaur, and Alex as a "handsome devil." Their first date was spent watching the 2008 presidential elections together. A few years later, Alex proposed to Mina at their apartment in New York City, just before they were headed out to visit Mina's family in Reston, Virginia. "It was the first time we didn't mind the rush-hour traffic because it gave us seven hours to enjoy the excitement of being newly engaged before celebrating with family all weekend long," Mina says. The couple was married at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC. Mina and Alex chose a color palette of black, white and gold for their modernized 1920s-inspired wedding. Stationery played a central role in the wedding's decor, with graphic, black and white prints and stylized fonts for the invitations, programs and menus. Mina and Alex said their vows in front of a statement gold wall, which featured floating shelves adorned with votive candles and white and blush flower arrangements. These flowers also topped the gold dining tables at the ballroom reception. Mina and Alex also incorporated into their day the Persian tradition of the Sofreh table, which is a display of items that are symbolic of the couple's future health and happiness. Guests danced to tunes by the live band and enjoyed the photo booth, which had '20s-inspired props. This stunning hotel wedding was luxurious and modern, with a nod to classic tastes and traditions.
