A Luxurious Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Old Westbury, New York

Anna Gerzon (47, In House Attorney) and Robert Elenowitz (61, Import/Export Business Owner met in their Old Westbury neighborhood a decade ago. The neighboring families frequently crossed paths at resorts, the local bagel shop and during trips to the Hamptons. Once a year, Robert invited Anna to dinner, a time when they could chat without distraction and get to know one another better. On one occasion, Anna tried to set Robert up with her best friend, which ended up reaffirming the fact that the neighbors had much in common. After her friend’s gentle push, the two became inseparable. On October 12, 2014 Anna and Robert tied the knot in the backyard of their private residence. “Since we were both married before in grand hotel ballrooms we wanted an intimate wedding with plenty of space for all our friends and family,” says Anna. The Jewish ceremony took place under a floral-adorned huppah made of rustic birch tree branches. The couples’ 120 guests sat alongside the glamorous pool, where candles leaves and flowers floated and bobbed. An outdoor cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony, where guests could bask in the sunny autumn day. The newlyweds walked the residence grounds alone while guests enjoyed celebratory champagne and oysters. The tented reception featured large farm tables and lush floral arrangements dripping with seasonal fruits. Guests dined by the light of tall tapered candles and hanging chandeliers.
