A Luxe-Meets-Rustic Christmas-Themed Wedding at Terrain at Styers in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania
Attorneys Tammy Minott (30) and Justin Mann (32) looked to one of their favorite restaurants, the Garden Café at Terrain, when choosing the spot for their wintry celebration. “The greenery and wood elements in the greenhouse and garden shed provided the perfect backdrop,” Tammy says. The date and details developed from there. “We fell in love with the idea of throwing a wedding focused on traditional winter elements without crossing over into a Christmas theme,” Tammy says. Evergreen, flickering candlelight, wreathes, plaid blankets and staples like hot cocoa drove the theme home. Guests even left with white ceramic pinecone ornaments and cranberry hazelnut biscotti as a final ode to the season.
A frame of greenery surrounded Tammy and Justin during their vows, creating what they called a “living portrait.” Table names featured a hand-drawn image of an herb or a botanical. To complement the evergreen elements, jewel-tone blooms filled the bouquets and centerpieces.
“The mushroom soup is a mainstay on Terrain’s menu due to the proximity to Kennett Square, which is known for its mushroom production,” Justin says of the reception’s first course. The pair also served “flowerpot bread,” keeping with the theme. Bud vases filled with rosemary, sage, holly and silver dollar eucalyptus acted as escort cards. “I wanted to bring in a reference to the garden center,” Tammy says. In addition to a lemon lavender polenta cake filled with lemon buttercream and raspberry jam, the pair served two naked cakes finished with fresh berries and succulents.
When it came to fashion, Tammy’s single attendant, her matron of honor, wore an on-palette navy gown paired with a gray stole. Justin’s two groomsmen—his best friend and Tammy’s brother—completed their look with herringbone blazers.
