The Utah State Capitol is nothing short of wow-worthy: From the outside, the impressive stone building with classic columns offers unparalleled terrace views of Salt Lake City, and the interior is just as luxe (think marble staircases, gold decor and an overhead mural in the rotunda). Every part of the building is jaw-droppingly gorgeous: That’s why Kelly Boulton (29 and a loan service professional) and Cam Bennee (31 and a general sales manager) hosted their wedding there. “We chose this space because it's beautifully grand and there is a magical feel there,” Kelly says. Michelle Leo Events helped the couple with the details and enhanced the venue with a palette of gold, black and ivory, paired with lush ivory florals by Urban Chateau Floral. The ceremony unfolded in the Capitol rotunda, where the wedding party walked toward the guests, seated in a half circle, from a grand marble staircase. Later, the reception led guests out onto the terrace, decorated with a blend of modern and vintage lounge furniture, dining tables and a stunning tented display for the gold and black Romanesque-inspired cake by Cake-A-Licious. As the sun set over the mountains and the twinkling city-light backdrop, amber lighting gave the Utah State Capitol a stunning golden glow that framed the backdrop of Kelly and Cam’s grand exit to an aisle of their guests waving ribbons. Urban Chateau Floral created Kelly's round bridal bouquet with ivory hydrangeas and spray roses. A few subtle blush spray roses added a soft, romantic touch to her textured arrangement.
Kelly and Cam got married in the Utah State Capitol rotunda, surrounded by elegant marble columns, a classic mural and luxe gold details. "We chose this space because it's beautifully grand and there is a magical feel there," Kelly says. Both she and Cam volunteer with a nonprofit that has an annual event in the rotunda, so they knew it would be a special place for their ceremony.

Cam wore a white rose boutonniere with a sprig of metallic gold and a white pocket square to accent his formal black-and-white tuxedo.

Kelly and Cam's flower girl was dressed to the nines in her black lace and taupe dress. Complete with a sophisticated updo with black lace and a tiara, this flower girl looked nothing short of regal as she walked down the grand marble staircase with her basket of ivory petals.
The rotunda at the Utah State Capitol was the perfect space for a round ceremony. Kelly and Cam set up their guests' chairs in a semicircle that faced the west staircase where their procession emerged, facing the guests rather than down an aisle.
The West Plaza terrace of the Utah State Capitol, where Kelly and Cam's reception took place, was all-stone with large classic columns, lion statues and a Roman-style balcony that looked like it was floating over Salt Lake City, Utah. The city lights could be seen twinkling below as the sun set behind the mountain backdrop.
A metallic gold tablecloth and gold chiavari chairs set the head table apart from the rest of the black dining tables. The wedding party sat on the terrace balcony overlooking Salt Lake City as the sun set.
Ivory and gold is always a winning combination. Hydrangeas, roses and sprigs of metallic gold branches in gold mercury glass chalices decorated the tables at the terrace reception.

Kelly couldn't decide if she wanted to decorate her terrace reception with vintage lounge pieces or modern furniture, so she had both. Ivory and gold cushioned chairs juxtaposed with classic metallic chiavari chairs enhanced the elegant atmosphere.
Black linens and gold chiavari chairs enhanced the luxe vibe on the Utah State Capitol stone terrace, where the reception dinner took place. Low ivory floral centerpieces in mercury glass chalices gave seated guests an uninterrupted view of the mountainous backdrop in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Kelly and Cam's wedding cake baker nailed this vintage-inspired four-tier round cake, complete with metallic gold and black details in a Romanesque style. A sheer canopy draped with sheer ivory fabric and a trio of crystal chandeliers added a wow factor to the display.
Amber directional lighting illuminated the gold decor and marble architecture of the Utah State Capitol where Kelly and Cam hosted their elegant reception.
At the end of the night, Kelly and Cam made their grand exit through a row of their guests waving ribbon streamers. The Utah State Capitol, glowing with gold uplighting, provided a stunning backdrop for their exit.
