A Lush, Flower-Filled Wedding at The Planterra Conservatory in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
After attending her sister's spring wedding at Planterra in West Bloomfield, bride-to-be Melissa Solarz immediately fell in love with the lush conservatory. So much in fact, that Melissa and her fianc?, Sean Flanigan, booked it for their own nuptials the following November! "The venue seemed so fresh and new and versatile," Melissa recalls. "My sister didn't mind if we used the same space, so we booked it!" Seven months later, Melissa (dressed in an ivory Watters gown complete with a Chantilly lace overlay) and Sean exchanged vows in a Jewish ceremony under a birch wood chuppah dripping with a garland of roses and greens. "I'm Jewish and my husband is Catholic, so we included a number of Jewish traditions along with an Irish love lilt," Melissa explains. Despite the size of the conservatory, the newlyweds still managed to make the space feel special. "Our guests were blown away by the intimacy of the ceremony," Melissa says. "It felt very holy, meaningful and filled with love." With the help of a day-of coordinator and Planterra's special events director, David DiVencenzo, the couple used an organic color palette of ivory and green to fuel their garden-inspired fete. Lush green garlands ran the length of each wooden farm table while fall foliage, seasonal produce and tall candles lent a harvest-inspired element to each tablescape. "The reception space was truly the highlight of the evening," Melissa says. Check out all of the chic natural details, captured by Kelly Sweet Photography, below:
