A Low-Key Party With Fun Western Details at Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas

Brittnay and Adam are a relaxed, nontraditional pair, so they wanted their wedding at Vista West Ranch to have a similar feel. “Our goal was to provide a celebration that truly represented us,” Adam says. They pulled off a low-key party filled with personal details: yard games, Tex-Mex food and family members playing violin and harmonica throughout the night.

The peaks on Adam’s bolo represent the Davis Mountains, where he proposed. The couple served a spritz, with either Campari or Aperol, as their signature cocktail. Brittnay wrapped macramé around her bouquet of blue thistle, tweedia, eucalyptus, privet berries, dusty miller and lisianthus. Vintage place settings and painted terra-cotta pots with succulents and cacti created a boho vibe with the help of wire chandeliers. At cocktail hour, guests drank local craft beers and grazed on pulled-pork sliders and smoked corn cups, then made their own brisket or chicken tacos for dinner. The newlyweds danced to “Warm Foothills” by alt-J. They included a line from the song in their vows: “I tie my life to your balloon and let it go.” Later on, Adam’s uncle jammed to Muddy Waters on harmonica. “Our guests went nuts,” Adam says. The couple dished out mini berry, banana cream, lemon meringue and pecan pies. Guests also made s’mores at the fire pit outside.  Adam’s brother designed the playful save-the-date, invitations and guide to Austin.
