A 'Lord of the Rings'-Inspired Wedding at Knowlton Mansion in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

In this autumn wedding, the ring meant more than a fellowship. For Katie Bittner (29 and a physician) and Justus Guerrieri (29 and also a physician), wedding inspiration emerged from 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Star Wars.' "We wanted the wedding to be classy, but with nerd elements," Katie says. The couple selected orange and green as their wedding colors to emulate the forest from 'The Lord of the Rings.' Lush hydrangeas, orchids and roses added a pop of color in bright bouquets that continued the enchanting theme. The couple were married at the Knowlton Mansion—not exactly Middle Earth, but perfect for a charming outdoor ceremony. Katie wore a light gold Maggie Sottero dress and Justus, a gray Vera Wang tuxedo. Consistent with theme, the bride walked down the aisle to "Concerning Hobbits" from 'The Lord of the Rings' soundtrack. Rustic flower arrangements wrapped in burlap lined the aisle, courtesy of Always Beautiful Floral Designs by Stella. At the reception, guests enjoyed a three-tier pumpkin spice wedding cake with Lego cake toppers wielding light sabers and battling droids. Other Lego characters on the cake showcased the couple's favorite moments together. A tip from Katie: "If there's something you want at your wedding, push for it. This day is about the couple, and it should reflect your relationship." Katie and Justus's precious evening was captured by BG Productions Photography and Videography, with more photos below.
