A Lively, Rooftop Wedding at Top of the Town in Arlington, Virginia

Kelly Stevens (25, administrative specialist) and Anthony Benedicto (24, personal trainer) liked each other immediately when they met at college. However, both were hesitant to start dating because they didn't want to ruin their friendship. They finally took the plunge and began dating in their senior year. On Kelly's 24th birthday, Anthony took her to the Botanic Gardens in Washington, D.C. and serenaded her with "Once Upon a Dream," a song from her favorite movie, Sleeping Beauty. He proposed to Kelly with a solitaire diamond on a platinum filigree ring. For their wedding, Kelly and Anthony wanted their out of town guests to be able to enjoy beautiful views of the city. They chose Top of the Town in Arlington, a loft style venue with a sky deck on the roof of a residential building with views of the Washington Mall. The color scheme at the wedding was spring green and deep purple, with flower arrangements of lavender, irises, purple anemones, viburnum, green spider chrysanthemums, lilac lilies and purple delphiniums. Kelly wore a beautiful lace sheath wedding dress with cap sleeves, and her bridesmaids wore bold, royal purple knee length dresses from David's Bridal. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos by Vera Wang with green pocket squares and purple ties while Anthony stood out in a white vest, black tie and pink orchid boutonniere to go with his tuxedo ensemble. The traditional, religious ceremony was held at the nearby McLean Church, and Kelly wore a long, cathedral veil for her vows. Kelly and Anthony opted for a cocktail reception with limited tables for guests who needed to sit and ample benches around the venue. High boys decorated with green ribbon and purple flower arrangements had a stunning backdrop of the city, and string lights made the sky deck twinkle at night. Kelly and Anthony served traditional Lebanese food to honor Anthony's heritage, and for dessert, a unconventional cake made out of green and purple cake pops sated guests' sweet tooth. The cake topper featured Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora as a reference to the couple's engagement. Kelly and Anthony's rooftop wedding was lively and heartwarming.
