A Light and Romantic Wedding at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Alex Moe, 22, an associate director of student ministry, and Amanda Moe, 22, an admissions counselor, exchanged vows in front of 260 family members and friends at a simple and elegant wedding in Minneapolis. The couple first met in a college class, but didn’t start dating until a few months later. On their one-year anniversary, Alex surprised Amanda with a sunrise proposal. The couple chose the Nicollet Island Pavilion as the location for both their ceremony and reception. “I wanted to be able to have an outdoor ceremony with a plan B for bad weather,” says the bride. A broad color palette of cream, gold, champagne, soft pink and silver helped the couple achieve a light and romantic feeling on their special day. Following the tent ceremony, guests attended an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and munched on multiple hors d'oeuvres including spinach bites and brie cheese. A sit-down dinner and dancing followed at the reception, which also featured a photo booth and a sweet treat bar. “Our DJ did great with song options and so many people joined in dancing for celebrating,” Amanda says. Throughout the day, the bride and groom remain focused on their faith. “Our whole wedding was focused on the Gospel and how Christ is the center of our relationship,” says the bride.
