When the coronavirus pandemic upended their original wedding plans, forcing Ilyse and Kyle to postpone their big celebration to next year, they decided to, quite literally, make lemonade out of lemons. The couple decided to move ahead with a minimony on their original date and leaned fully into a joyful, citrus-inspired theme.
As the adage says, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” that’s exactly what Ilyse and Kyle embodied in their at-home minimony in New York. For attire, "dressed in their lemon best with the women all wearing lemon or yellow dresses and the men in blue suits.” Yellow linens, lemon-inspired stationery and masks, and plenty of actual lemonade further added to the minimony's theme. Ultimately, the couple took a sour situation and brought joy to it with their New York minimony.
